A class of diseases associated with pathology of the heart or blood vessels; the general name for diseases of the circulatory system. Cardiovascular diseases include: coronary heart disease (which includes angina and myocardial infarction – a heart attack.
Cardiovascular diseases also include stroke, heart failure, in particular associated with high blood pressure, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmia, congenital and acquired heart defects, aortic aneurysm, peripheral artery disease, thrombosis and thrombophlebitis.
